In August 2022, the U.S. government enacted the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (“CHIPS Act”), which provides funding for manufacturing grants and research investments and established a 25% investment tax credit (“ITC”) for certain qualifying investments in U.S. semiconductor manufacturing equipment. On July 4, 2025, the U.S. Congress passed a federal statute controlling tax and spending policies (the “July 4, 2025 Bill”). As part of the July 4, 2025 Bill, this ITC was increased to 35% for assets placed into service after December 31, 2025. We account for the investment tax credit as a reduction to the carrying value of the qualifying asset and record a corresponding receivable for expected tax credits in connection with the CHIPS Act. As of July 3, 2026 and October 3, 2025, there was an $8.3 million and $5.6 million reduction, respectively, to the gross carrying amounts of the qualifying assets in the condensed consolidated balance sheet.
